LIVE: Shares Bounce off Lows to Gain 11% on Limited Volume

Friday’s session saw option expiration day come, much to the delight of put holders and call writers. Concern over energy prices, the recent financial industry reported losses, and political unrest in the Middle East had many unwilling to step up and buy stocks. The Dow was down over 240 points while oil was up over $3, erasing Thursday’s pullback.

Interestingly, solars were also beaten pretty badly during the day even with oil rising. Speculation suggested the plateau oil had reached in the $135 area causing many traders to buy put options on solars as a less risky play on a momentary halt to the oil rally.

While large caps were getting pummeled, one small cap company tested their technical support levels and saw a nice gain. LiveDeal, Inc. (LIVE) maintains a combined local online classifieds and Yellow Pages marketplace with millions of goods and services listed for sale, in every city and zip code across the U.S.

Through its online properties LiveDeal.com and YP.com, LiveDeal offers businesses and consumers a simple and affordable way of creating a web presence and marketing their products and services to local audiences. Buyers and sellers come together through LiveDeal’s vast local marketplaces to find and list business services, merchandise, real estate, automobiles and pets.

The Company recently announced the full implementation of a strategic alliance with Google to become an authorized reseller of Google’s AdWords(TM) advertising program. AdWords is an online marketing platform designed to help businesses of all sizes advertise online by delivering relevant ads when users search for specific products and services.

As a Google AdWords Authorized Reseller, LiveDeal’s dedicated direct sales force will encourage local businesses to use AdWords online advertising as a cost effective, efficient way to find and target new customers. The relationship with Google enables LiveDeal to further maximize its value to local advertisers by providing high quality customer service and expert, professional AdWords account management — from account setup and activation to ongoing campaign maintenance and optimization.

Through Google AdWords, advertisers can find new customers and better connect with them at the precise moment they are searching online for specific products and services. Advertisers select and bid on keywords related to what they are selling, and pay only when interested users click on their ads. Advanced targeting options, customizable ads and detailed reporting enable advertisers to evaluate the benefits and performance of their cost-per-click advertising efforts.

On Friday, shares gained over 11.5% on limited volume. With a trailing P/E ratio now in the 7.6 range, $6.11 million in cash, a low float, and the small amount of debt, the name is certainly one to follow over the coming months. Investors would be wise to watch.
